Hello! This is the first time I have released one of my models to the public! Soooo, hopefully the release goes smoothly!

This is Version 1.0.0, the first version. Be sure to check the Google Drive below to check if there are updates. But for now, this being the first version, there is no changelog to speak of.

Anyone is allowed to use this model for any purpose. Of course, while respecting the fact that all Pokemon are owned by the Pokemon
Company, Game Freak, and Nintendo. You just don't have any restrictions specific to my rights to this model. If you want to make your
own renders, modify the model, or whatever, you'll have no issues coming from me.

HOW TO USE

First, make sure you are using Blender 2.8. This rig was made entirely using that version, and cannot be opened using older versions of Blender.

To use the rig, make sure it's selected, and go to the armature settings in the Properties window. There are several bone layers you can choose to make visible.

The first row has 4 layers, the second row has 1. I usually like to organize bone layers to where the first row is the essential bones to pose first, and the second row for bones to pose last for secondary actions and whatnot. Feel free to explore those bone layers.

The two bone layers to the very right are unused for posing, but most of them are essential to make the rig functional. Pay no mind to them unless you intend to modify the rig.

I currently have no boneshapes made yet, but given the overall simplicity of the rig, I wasn't too inclined to make them. But if I get requests to make them, I may do so in the future. But for now, every bone appears as a single segment B-Bone.

I would also recommend making a separate .Blend file, and then linking this .Blend file to the new .Blend + making a proxy to allow for easier asset management. If you want to apply a different version of the rig using the same pose (if compatable), that's your best bet as well.

There's also an simple IK rig used for the legs. One main bone, and a bone that rolls the feet around the toes. It may not be obvious due to the lack of bone shapes, so I thought I'd note that here.

USAGE TIPS

As for tips on how to use this rig in the least uncanny way as possible, first you may want stay away from maxing out all of the face shape key bones in any way, especially on boths sides of the face.

Asymmetry is also key. The pose as a whole will suffer and look very unattural if you don't put attention into making sure both sides are the model are doing different things, even if it's subtle.

The jaw bone is also independent of the lips. Lowering the jaw will still keep the lips shut. So use the 6 lip bone controllers to adjust the lip pose to open the mouth if needed. Those 6 bones are free from transformation constraints, so you can rotate, scale, and move wherever you need to form the mouth shape you desire.

CONTACT INFO

If you want to contact me, feel free to send me a message on Twitter (@_DJTHED), or send me a note on DeviantArt (TheRealDJTHED).

If you have bugs, suggestions, or critiques of the model itself, that's left best to the Google Forms page I made. If you send me a direct message for that kind of stuff instead, I may lose it more easily. So use this form if you have feedback about the models themselves for the sake of my organization, especially later down the road:
